Has anyone ever lucid dreamed before? How many times? What was it like?

Re: Lucid Dreaming
I was just looking into this topic last night and it really interested me! I really want to try it out but I am kind of scared that I might get Sleep Paralysis and start hallucinating some weird stuff. So I think I'll pass on it, but it is a really interesting thing!

Re: Lucid Dreaming
I have tried many times to lucid but failed. Every single time I go into REM Sleep, I freak out and wake up.

Re: Lucid Dreaming
I had a lucid dream last night!
Except... it was the most anti-climatic lucid dream ever. I was aware that I was dreaming, yes, I tried to fly again yes, I didn't fly, then I woke up. ._.

I may have but the memory of having one doesn't come to mind.

Re: Lucid Dreaming
I did have one once. it was very strange.
I was in paris,sleeping.. and i suddenly felt like i was being pulled out of my body into someone elses and i saw myself staring, in the dark at the exercising machine that we use at home. i could see it was dark and i could also see the walls near it.
I think i somehow switched sprits with my cat who was at home at the time.
I knew that i was dreaming the whole time.

Re: Lucid Dreaming
Wow. I used to get lucid dreams about twice a week that would last (if you could even time it) roughly 5-15 minutes. Now, I've become lazy. It takes too much time and effort to achieve lucidity in dreams (unless you're a natural). There are techniques that you do throughout the day - questioning yourself if you're dreaming is one - and it can be bothersome. Personally, I don't think it's worth the effort BUT I definitely recommend trying it at least once because well... it's freaking awesome!
I got my experiences through the MILD technique because WILD is way harder to achieve but much more rewarding. But if you can do WILD, I'd rather go for OBEs (Out-of-Body Experiences), those are much funner in my opinion.
Oh, I remember having problems falling asleep afterwards. Every night I used to feel someone standing near me - watching over me (this could be from attempting OBEs). It freaked me out but I got over it eventually... about a year later... when it stopped.
And all those days I spent practicing lucid dreaming, I got better at remembering my dreams that every night I have a dream, I remember it clearly. Although this might sound fun or exciting - it's not. Horror dreams are worse, and good dreams are so fun that when you come back to face reality, you wish you were still dreaming... and that's a real bummer.
